Virtual Tour: Big Oak Nature Trail

The Big Oak Trail is a 0.8 mile, moderate difficulty hiking trail, that is accessible from the main park road as well as close to campground B. This trail winds through groves of large, mature oaks that are as much as 200 years old. An excellent trail for birdwatching and admiring the majestic trees for which it is named.

"When my husband and I were engaged, we took our soon to be "blended" family to Hungry Mother State Park for our first attempt at bringing together our three girls. He has two and I have one. One morning we decided to take the oldest daughter for a hike on Molly's Knob. We did the entire trail and the views were magnificent. More importantly I was able to start that relationship with the oldest daughter that I hold dear twenty-one years later. Thank you Hungry Mother State Park for a memory we'll…"
