The Saunders Creek Trail is a .1 mile moderate difficulty trail that connects the campground to the day use area and the Lakeshore Trail. The trail passes through a wooded area and provides a quick access to the lake and beach area.

"When my husband and I were engaged, we took our soon to be "blended" family to Hungry Mother State Park for our first attempt at bringing together our three girls. He has two and I have one. One morning we decided to take the oldest daughter for a hike on Molly's Knob. We did the entire trail and the views were magnificent. More importantly I was able to start that relationship with the oldest daughter that I hold dear twenty-one years later. Thank you Hungry Mother State Park for a memory we'll…"
