We will request an edit to our website to include the location of our dock to help guests with their own watercraft to decide to use it or go to our launch at Croaker Landing. Croaker is located on the York River and provides a launch from a sandy shoreline.…"

"When people hear "kayak" they think white water and thrill seekers, but there is an opposite side to that, flat calm water, wildlife and the beauty of nature almost untouched by people. It is not hard at all, as long as you don't get caught fighting a changing tide. "

"I was at York River with my son last spring and I was disappointed to see that to use my own kayak, I had to portage quite a ways and go down a few sets of stairs. Since I had 2 kayaks and a 10 year old, we ended up going to the public boat landing (a few miles away) which did not have nearly as scenic of a paddle. Maybe this could somehow be communicated by the park in the online description so other people don't have the same problem we did? Unless there was a launch at the main part of the park…"
