The Virginia State Parks has an interactive exhibit in the Natural Resources Area of the State Fair of Virginia, located at Meadow Event Park in Caroline County.
Howdy from the State Fair!
The exhibit includes a chance to search for fairy stones, sharks teeth and to pan for gold, all of which can be done at some of our beautiful state parks. There are many other hidden surprises within the exhibit, fun things to do and giveaways waiting for you In addition, we have partnered with the Girl Scouts of America this year as we celebrate their 100th Anniversary. On weekends, various troops are set up next to our area with various demonstrations, including, a simulated campsite, fire building, crafts, and various methods of cooking to name just a taste what they have planned for you.
The state agencies in this area and these exhibits are open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-6 p.m. on Sundays. The State Fair runs through October 7th with other areas of the fair opened late under the glow of the midway lights. I hope to see you at the Fair!
