Virginia State Parks

All aboard!!!!

Saturday, September 22, 2012 Natural Tunnel State Park is expecting a visitor, a very special visitor!

This visitor is different than any visitor that has been to the park in many years. This one is a dinosaur. That’s right, Buddy the T-Rex from PBS’s Dinosaur Train, will be at the park from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

This FREE program is geared toward kids from preschool age to the age of 8. There will be hands on nature exhibits including animal tracks, pelts, fossils, and more. Kids will be able to screen episodes of Dinosaur Train, go on birding hikes, and do art projects throughout the day. There will also be living history demonstrations at the Blockhouse within the park. Drawings, for Dinosaur Train items, will be done too.

Children get a first hand experience with our past through living history.
