When I visit Virginia State Parks, I try to escape from all those things that bug me in everyday life, so I thought I would share my top ten list with you! (Feel free to share those things that bug you on Virginia State Parks Facebook page here, or in the comments section below.)
Take in the scenery at First Landing State Park (these views won't bug you)
Barefoot on the beach is the order of the day (don't let shoes bug you)
Over a mile of beach (surely this won't bug you)
Tent camping under the trees (freedom from obligations can't bug you)
1. Neighbors that don't take care of their yard (at Virginia State Parks the staff are meticulous, the hedges are trimmed, the lawns mowed and the garbage is emptied!)
2. Being coughed on (at Virginia State Parks you are outside and not forced to be stuck in close quarters with strangers, so roam free!)
3. Co-workers answering their cell phone in the middle of a conversation with you (at Virginia State Parks you can listen to the seagulls and the water rushing by, or children laughing, and you don't have to listen to a co-worker's cell phone conversation if you don't want to!)
4. Broken promises (at Virginia State Parks what you see is what you get!)
5. White socks and black shoes (at Virginia State Parks you probably won't see this, but you might see dark socks with sandals, hey we can't give everyone great dress sense!)
6. TMI (at Virginia State Parks you can come and go at your leisure, this is your vacation, it is not about us! So we won't bore you with "Too Much Information" just enough to make your stay pleasurable and fun!)
7. Surprise charges on the bill (at Virginia State Parks the policies and fees are clear; there are never hidden resort fees, or extra usage fees...!)
8. Toothpaste being squeezed from the middle (at Virginia State Parks we will never squeeze your toothpaste!)
9. Showing up late (at Virginia State Parks you can show up any time you want, any time is right on time!)
10. Frowning (at Virginia State Parks people just don't frown, unless it is time to go home!)
