With record high temperatures behind us, we can now enjoy the outdoors again!
Why not enjoy the nightlife by attending an outdoor summer concert on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Pocahontas State Park featuring The Seldom Scene bluegrass band. For over 25 years The Seldom Scene remains extremely popular and one of the region’s greatest bluegrass bands.
The Seldom Scene has long been regarded as one of the most progressive bluegrass bands and one of the finest acts in the entire genre.
Formed in 1971 this American Bluegrass band has long been regarded as one of the most progressive bluegrass bands as well as one of the finest acts in the entire genre. American bluegrass has mixed roots in Scottish, Irish, and English traditional music and is a sub-genre of country music. So grab your lawn chairs and picnic dinner and come out to the Heritage Amphitheater to hear The Seldom Scene, one of bluegrass music finest!
Tickets are $10 each the day of the show including a $5 parking fee. But if you plan in advance to attend, purchase your tickets for only $10 and the parking fee is FREE! Season tickets are $45 with free parking. Children 10 and under are FREE. Gates open at 6 p.m. Food concessions and adult beverages (proper ID required) will be available. So bring the whole family and listen to great music while enjoying the cooler night temperatures and the outdoors.

The park is located in Chesterfield County, about 20 miles from Richmond. It's easily accessible from Interstate 95, Route 288 and Route 360.
