Civil War Campfire at Belle Isle State Park July 20th!
Have you ever wondered how the Civil War affected the people of the Northern Neck area? Now you can learn all about this period in history in a campfire setting at Belle Isle State Park. While roasting marshmallows around the campfire, you will learn about how the Civil War impacted the residents of the Northern Neck area of Virginia. While no major battles took place in the area, it is separated by a river from Maryland, which stayed with the Union. Frequent skirmishes and raids along with restrictions on water travel made life difficult for the local farmers and watermen.

Come warm your bones by the fire!
