I remember my mother saying that just about each and every day "GO OUTSIDE!" especially in the summertime...we would run in to get our roller skates and some money for the ice-cream truck as we heard it's jingle echoing through the neighborhood blocks away...and we also could hear Mom saying in the background "GO OUTSIDE!" and add "and don't slam the screen door!"
I think about it now and almost have to laugh, what was INSIDE to keep us in there? Gilligan's Island re-runs? Typically staying inside got us "Take the trash out" or "Clean your room" so as a kid, outside was the place to be!
Nowadays inside has way too many distractions. Going outside is dangerous, stay inside and play. Has the world really changed that much?
