All of our Virginia State Parks will be participating in National Kids to Parks Day 2012 on May 19! Sponsored by the National Park Trust this will be the second year for the event which is a grassroots movement to celebrate America's parks through play.
You can read all about the inaugural event.in 2011. I attended Mason Neck State Park's Kids to Parks Day last year and it was a great event. This year we will be welcoming families to all our parks to explore all that nature has to offer.
Your class can earn a field trip to a park in your community the week leading up to Kids to Parks Day thanks to the National Park Trust. Click here for complete details and the entry form. Deadline for entries is Thursday, March 1st. Winners will be announced Monday, March 19th.
