While working the Ohio RV Super Show in Cleveland, Ohio, I had a bit of a surprise when I got out of my car.
There right next to the parking lot was Air Force One
I couldn’t wait to get inside and to work with the chance President Obama was going to stop by my booth and I would have the chance to tell him Virginia State Parks are a great place for a family vacation. I could tell him how we are connecting Children with Nature and getting them outdoors and active just like Michelle. I could tell him about all the interpretive programs available for Sasha and Malia and even about the award winning Youth Conservation Corps Program. I could tell him about our own “White House” built in 1877 called Karlan Mansion at Wilderness Road State Park.
So I rushed into work at the Largest Camping and RV Show in the Midwest and had my sales pitch all ready to go, only to find out he wasn’t in town to buy an RV, or to see me.
At the Largest Camping and RV Show in the Midwest
Well Mr. President, I will give you another chance to visit my booth as I will be at the Washington Camping and RV Show next weekend in Chantilly, Virginia. If you can’t make it, this is a personal invitation to come to any of our beautiful Virginia State Parks, several practically in your own backyard near the White House. I think we might have what you need as my Division Director always says:
“Virginia State Parks are a tonic for the mind, body and spirit.”
Hope to see you and your family real soon Mr. President!
