It might be cold out, but you can still have fun in a Virginia State Park!
Summer is not the only time to get outside as a family and have fun! Did you know your Virginia State Parks are open right now and ready for you? You can come out for a day of hiking, bike riding, geocaching, fishing and fun or even spend the night in one of the 260 climate-controlled cabins! (click here for more info)
Even though many of us Moms like to hibernate over the colder winter months, you know your kids do not! In fact, being pent up inside over the school holidays or on snow days when the days are darker and shorter can make the entire family go insane (or should I say, get a little low on patience...can you tell I have had my children home over the past two weeks?)
So what are you waiting for? You don't have to have a whole week or a weekend away, you can just tell them grab your coat, gloves, bikes, skateboards, roller blades (and safety gear) I am taking you for a surprise spur-of-the-moment getaway! If the weather is white then grab the snow gear. Fun for the whole family.
Wintertime can be loads of fun, and if the sun is shining you have a great opportunity for some wonderful family photos and memory making!

As you can see from this hot cocoa and s'mores photo - winter fun can also be fun for adults! Invite your friends, Sunday school class to have a winter time hike and picnic. The get togethers shouldn't end after Christmas, let the fun begin!
