Natural Tunnel State Park is a great place to be to kick off your Christmas season!
Natural Tunnel State Park is full of Christmas spirit
The Christmas season is a time for giving and receiving. It is best when the two can be combined. For more then 10 years Natural Tunnel State Park has provided Christmas Lighting of the Tunnel for the community.
November 25-26, 2011 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. will kick off this year's event with a special program called “Give a friend a Lift.” For these two days only, when you bring in non-perishable food items, you get a discount on your chairlift fees for the event. The food collected, will go to a local food bank.
Thousands of Christmas Lights will be lighting your way down the chairlift and out to the mouth of the tunnel. Santa, reindeer, and others will be featured in moving display. Once at the Tunnel, enjoy the sounds and smells of Christmas. Listen to local church choirs/performers entertain you while sipping hot chocolate by the nice warm fire.
Community groups and churches perform during the Lighting of the Tunnel
Kids of all ages won’t want to miss Santa. He will be in the Visitor Center November 25 and 26 and December 1 – 2, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30p.m. The Visitor Center is a great place for purchasing a stocking stuffer or Christmas gift for that special someone.
Kids of all ages love to see Santa!
Entertainment for November 25, 2011: Tommy Short followed by the Three Bell’s United Methodist Church Choir.
Entertainment for November 26, 2011: Gate City’s First Baptist Church Choir.
Cost for the program is a $3 which includes a round trip chairlift ticket. Of course, that price will be discounted on November 25-26, 2011 if you bring in a non-perishable food item.
Last year we raised over 250 non-perishable food items that were delivered to the Hope House in Gate City, Virginia. Help us exceed 250 food items this year by coming out and supporting your local food bank.
