Wild Ponies at Grayson Highlands State Park

One of the most unique attractions at Grayson Highlands State Park is the wild pony herd. The ponies have been attracting visitors for years. Although, the ponies are used to people, they are still considered wild. They must find food and shelter through out the rough mountain winters.

If you are hiking through the Massie Gap section of the park and encounter the ponies, you will never forget it.
