Lunch on the Lawn Concert Series Returns to Southwest Virginia Museum

Everyone looks forward to the weekend – those two days when you get a break from work and can enjoy some free time.  The anticipation begins to build mid-week and by Friday, most folks are eagerly awaiting quitting time so that they can kick off their weekend plans.  Summer weekends are particularly exciting.  The warm weather and longer days mean you can pack more fun in to your time off from work.

Summer weekends start early at the Southwest Virginia Museum.  Beginning on June 18 and running through August 13, the museum will once again offer its Friday lunchtime concert series, “Lunch on the Lawn.”  The free weekly concerts run from noon to 1:00 p.m. and feature some of the best musicians from around the region.  Guests can relax in the shade on the museum’s back lawn and enjoy the performances, which this year will take place in the new “Victorian Garden.”  Attendees may bring their own lunch or purchase a box lunch from the museum.  Menu options will change from week to week, and orders must be received by 9:30 AM on the day of the program.  All box lunches will include an entrée, chips, fruit, dessert and a drink.  The cost for the meal is $5.00.
