Today's society is more connected than ever between Twitter, Facebook, and that Blackberry you never let out of your sight. Even helping the environment has gone hi-tech. You may be wondering how and here's the answer. Thanks to the Odwalla's Plant a Tree program you can now plant a tree in a Virginia State Park simply with a click of your mouse. This will mark Odwalla's thrid year running the program and they have already helped to plant 160,000 trees across America's State Parks.
Here's how it works:
Starting May 25th log onto www.odwalla.com/plantatree, enter your email address, and select Virginia. Each person can only vote once, but feel free to encourage your friends and family to take part in this great opportunity to help out the environment and your local State Parks. Each vote equals $1 and the voting process will continue until the $200,000 available has been spent. Don't wait to vote! Last year's funds ran out in 5 weeks so make sure you vote starting May 25th.
Virginia came in second place in last year's Plant a Tree program, earning $23,577 towards the purchase of trees native to the region for our State Parks. Here are some pictures from the latest Plant a Tree program that helped plant trees in 33 of Virginia's State Parks during their Earth Day celebrations in April.
