After a couple active snow storms this winter, the weather appears to be taking a turn for the better. I remember when I used to look forward to snow days as a child, but now, they seem to be more of a nuisance. That is why I always love to see the first signs of spring.
Over the past couple days I have noticed insects beginning to emerge from their slumbers. In a short time Virginia’s flora will start to sprout and our beautiful state will become green with life once more. In a few short months, flowers will begin blooming and the weather will become quite warm.

I took a trip to Chippokes State Park last spring while the gardens were in bloom, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to bring a camera with you because there will be plenty to photograph.
