The Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps is accepting applications for the 2011 Summer program.

As many of our state parks know, Friends are a wonderful thing!  Especially the Citizens Support Organizations that sometimes form "Friends of Groups."

Want to give back to your community and make a difference?  Then this is the opportunity for you!

Many parks, including Shenandoah River, have citizen support organizations (CSOs), also called Friends groups.

Rural landscapes like the one surrounding the New River Trail have vanished from much of the Eastern U.S. - a fate you can help our park avoid with a spirit of conservation.

Virginia Association for Parks (VAFP) was launched at a statewide park volunteer training conference held in Fredericksburg in November 1997.

Thanks to a grant from Chesapeake Gateways, our Youth Conservation Corps was able to offer ten additional programs this year.
