Are you up for a ramble through the woods! Considered one of the premier hiking states in the U.S., Virginia is a hiker's heaven. Experience the exhausting climbs of the Appalachian Trail, the mountain vistas of Furnace Mountain, or the highest waterfalls in the Commonwealth at Crabtree Falls. You can take your backpack for extended hikes, or just enjoy the smell of the Mountain laurel on a short day hike, many of which can be done after a short drive from the more populated reaches of Northern Virginia. So strap on your hiking boots and let's hit the trail!
